Caps on what goes in, on what can be lost and on how long a session runs are all set from the account page, and they bite the moment they are saved. Tightening a cap is instant. Loosening one is held back on purpose, so an hour of frustration cannot overturn a calm decision made earlier in the day.
Stepping away, and who to call
A short lock is there for players who want a pause, and a longer closure is there for players who want out properly. Either can be arranged in chat, and nobody will ask you to justify it.
